It Starts With the Soil.
Knowing where your food comes from means knowing more than where it was purchased. It means understanding the soil it grew from, how it was raised, who handled it, and the path it took to your table.
Smokin’ Oaks is moving toward a member-owned cooperative built around regenerative agriculture, transparency and traceability.
This Is How We Farm — And Why It Matters
Regenerative organic farming isn't a marketing term here.
It's the only way we know how to do this.
-
Our animals live on open pasture, are supplemented with organic grains, and are raised without pesticides, antibiotics, or synthetic inputs.
-
Healthy food begins with healthy soil. We enrich the land through rotational grazing, diverse plant growth, and practices that support living, nutrient-dense soil.
-
We avoid pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers — choosing clean, nature-forward methods instead.
-
Biodiversity protects our crops naturally, creating balance without harmful treatments.
-
Every plant, insect, and animal plays a role in restoring the land and producing nutrient-dense food.
From Our Farm to Nashville
Smokin’ Oaks has always been about more than growing food. We’ve worked across farming, processing, sourcing and retail because we believe knowing how food is raised is only part of the story.
Now, as we move forward as a cooperative, we’re building on that foundation — working toward a food system that brings the people who produce food and the people who depend on it closer together.
